e*ECAD Offering iRoC Fault Simulation Tool

Santa Clara, Calif. - Oct. 30, 2002 - e*ECAD, Inc. announced today that it has signed a software and distribution partnering agreement with iRoC Technologies. iRoC is now offering use of its soft error simulator, ROBAN™, to IC designers through e*ECAD's online sales channel by perpetual license or pay-per-use basis billed in real time. With the option to rent or buy ROBAN, electronic systems and IC designers now have the most cost effective way to help speed their products to market by easily analyzing ICs against transient faults and soft errors resulting from alpha particles or cosmic rays. After tracking the soft error sensitivity of very deep submicron (VDSM) circuits with ROBAN, users will utilize the accurate soft errors vulnerability report to implement highly reliable designs.

Dedicated Fault Simulation Tool

ROBAN is a dedicated, transient fault simulation tool that provides analysis of the behavior of VDSM ICs against faults and soft errors. A high-speed algorithm enables very fast fault simulation of logic blocks while there is the flexibility to tailor the test environment by defining fault specifications and various injection points. All the data gathered during the simulation are interpreted and the sensitivity of the circuit is computed and presented as easy-to-interpret graphical information. The user can easily find the "hot spots" of the circuit most sensitive to errors and also vary the results by adjusting to different clock frequencies and pulse widths.

The graphical user interface guides the user with wizard-like choices throughout the entire test flow process.

Compatibility

ROBAN works together with a variety of digital simulators, including Verilog-XL and NCSim from Cadence and ModelSim from Mentor's Model Technology.

Availability

The recently released version 2.2 of ROBAN is available for Solaris 7 and 8 on www.eecad.com by pay per hour for $126 per hour or by perpetual licensing for $25,000. iRoC will be responsible for all technical support and service to e*ECAD's customers with respect to the software tools.
